Notifications

Last updated:

Notifications control which app events reach the bell and inbox, and whether Oscova plays short sounds for important UI moments.

Note

The bell is the notification icon in the top bar. The inbox is the saved list of notifications you can review later.

Open Settings > Preferences > Notifications to change these options. Changes save as you make them.

Notification delivery

Use Notification delivery to decide which app events should interrupt you or be saved for later review.

  • Pause bell notifications stops new bell notifications and inbox entries for your account.
  • Task notifications controls scheduled-task notifications: Never, Only on failure, or Always.
  • Show log warnings surfaces warning notifications generated from application logs.
  • Show system errors appears for admins and controls system-level error notifications.

When Pause bell notifications is on, the more specific delivery controls are disabled because no bell or inbox notifications will be delivered.

Note

Muting does not remove existing entries. Use the bell's clear action when you also want to empty the saved inbox.

A task's own notification mode still decides whether the run emits an outcome notification. This setting filters which emitted task outcomes reach the in-app inbox.

Use the bell and inbox

The bell shows an unread marker and moves only while unread entries exist. Open it to review newest entries first and filter by All or Tasks. Admins also get a System tab.

Selecting an entry marks it as read. Chat entries open their conversation, task entries open the task and recorded run, and other entries open a detail dialog with the title, status, timestamp, and message.

Use Mark all read to keep entries without the unread marker. Clear notifications removes saved entries without a confirmation prompt. For an admin, clear and mark-all-read actions also include visible system entries.

View all opens the larger inbox. The inbox keeps the latest 50 entries for each user scope. Repeated entries with the same kind and title within one minute are combined, with the newest details retained.

Sound effects

Use Sound effects to control short audio cues.

Note

A sound cue is a brief confirmation sound, not spoken audio. It plays for moments such as sending a message, completing a response, or receiving a notification.

The main controls are:

  • Play UI sounds turns all UI sound cues on or off.
  • Volume sets one volume level for every cue.
  • Sound cues lets you enable or disable individual cues.

Available cues are:

  • Send message
  • Enter chat
  • Response complete
  • Response error
  • Notification arrival
  • Starter prompt tap
  • Onboarding complete

If Play UI sounds is off, the volume and individual cue controls are disabled.

Practical setups

For quiet daily work, turn on Pause bell notifications or set Task notifications to Only on failure. Keep Response error and Notification arrival sounds enabled if you still want lightweight alerts for problems.

For unattended automation, leave Pause bell notifications off and set Task notifications to Always. Admins who operate the host may also want Show system errors on.

Troubleshooting

  • If delivery controls are disabled, turn off Pause bell notifications.
  • If volume or cue controls are disabled, turn on Play UI sounds.
  • If you do not see Show system errors, sign in with an admin account.
  • If task notifications are missing, check both the task's notification mode and your Task notifications setting.
  • If the bell cannot load or a setting shows an error, reload the page and retry after the connection recovers.
  • If cues stay silent, confirm browser or operating-system audio is not muted.
